New York City-based fashion designer Alexis Walsh, who focuses on 3D printed fashion, presented her latest collection together with Justin Hattendorf. The “Apex Series” consists of six parts and combines manual work with simulation and 3D printing.
It was presented for the first time this spring in North America at the “Harvard Identities Fashion Show” and during the “GE Industry”. Now the collection was also presented in Germany, namely in Düsseldorf, as part of the “Fashion x Lexus 3D Fashion Runway Show“.
Before Alexis Walsh created her designed pieces, she simulated the result with a specially developed app that can create complex yet precise 3D models. The 3D-printed elements are later applied to the garments by hand.
